5 Pieces You Need to Transition from Summer to Fall

With fall just around the corner, we are anxiously adding cute and cozy pieces to our wardrobes! While we wait for the new season to be in full swing, here are the 5 pieces to add to your wardrobe to make an effortless transition from summer to fall…

It’s no secret that fall is our favorite time of year, and in our neck of the woods, it means a change of clothing trends and addition of cozy layers! As the temperatures start to cool down, we have slowly shifted the focus of our wardrobe to denim, booties, and light jackets that we can start incorporating into our style. Just because fall isn’t quite here yet, doesn’t mean we can’t bring in a few multi-season items that still give us all the fall vibes we love! While we anxiously wait to bring out our tall boots and chunky sweaters, here are the 5 pieces we’ll be rotating through our wardrobe during this time of transition…

1. Leather or Bomber Jackets

Jackets are a must for changing seasons, but leather and bomber jackets in particular are continuing to make a statement for fall, so we’ve stocked up on a few fashion-forward finds that will not only be perfect for the chillier months, but also throughout the winter and into spring. We love throwing these over a simple t-shirt or one of our favorite dresses.

2. Lightweight Sweaters

If you’re anything like us and can’t wait until the first day you can bring out your chunky knits, a lightweight sweater is a must-have as we transition into fall. Not only are they great on their own on those warmer days, they make great layering pieces, under a trendy jacket, as we head into winter.

3. Booties

It’s no surprise that booties are on this must-have list! They’re an essential addition to any fall wardrobe, and are really easily thrown into your wardrobe rotation as the weather cools down. We love pairing them with a long sleeve dress in early fall and with jeans and a chunky sweater for cooler fall months.

Outfit Details Shoes: Macy’s

4. Midi Skirts

What may come as a surprise, is that the word “skirt” makes the list as something to have as we head into fall! Midi skirts are making a statement for the new season, and they make the ideal transition piece, as the hemlines are a longer and provide more coverage for your bare legs. They will look equally as adorable with a pair of tall boots or tights and heels during fall!

5. Button-Up Dresses

Something we’re going to talk about a lot this fall are all things button-up, but for now, button-up dresses! The versatility provided by this piece makes it a great addition to any wardrobe – the best part being that they can be worn year round (more on that coming soon!). If you’re looking for a layering piece that can be worn many different ways to accommodate the ever-changing weather, this is your item!
