Introducing Fall 2016 Colors According to Pantone

From earth tone shades of bold greens, deep reds, and rusted oranges, to bright pops of pinks, yellows, and blues, these are Fall 2016’s color hues..

We always look forward to the day when Pantone releases their Fashion Color Report for each fashion season, and this fall was no exception. We were excited to see that some of our fall faves like burgundy and olive green are here to stay, but something even more exciting was seeing the brighter hues of pinks, yellow, and blues that are new for the season!

Take a look at the colors we’ll be adding to our closet this fall, according to the Pantone Fall 2016 Color Report..

Riverside (Pantone 17-4028)

Pantone describes this hue as “cool and calming, strong and stable” and “displays subtle vibrancy and sophistication,” and we couldn’t agree more! We have seen this color popping up in our stores in both clothing and interiors.

Pairs well with:

  • Grey
  • Pink
  • Green
  • Orange

Airy Blue (Pantone 14-4122)

The name says it all! We love the icy-cool feel of this hue (not to mention we could totally see ourselves rocking this color all year long). Pantone is calling it the spin-off of the Color of the Year — “Serenity.”

Pairs well with:

  • Neutrals
  • Green
  • Light Pink
  • Burgundy

Sharkskin (Pantone 17-3914)

We love this modern-day neutral that has an added edge as a fall go-to hue. You’ll see this color as a metallic and in a lot of accessories, sweaters and coats for fall.

Pairs well with:

  • Everything (consider it your must-have neutral!)

Aurora Red (Pantone 18-1550)

If there is any color that is dominating the racks this fall, it’s bold shades of red! We love that Pantone describes this color as “exciting and dynamic, breeds unmistakable confidence.” It’s the much-needed bright and bold punch of a relatively muted color palette.

Pairs well with:

  • Black
  • Navy
  • Light Blue
  • Green

Warm Taupe (Pantone 16-1318)

Pantone says this color is “a hearty, pleasing and approachable neutral that pairs well with each of the top 10 shades of the Fall 2016 season.” We love this color in hats, coats, and boots, and can’t wait to see other variations of this hue in our stores!

Pairs well with:

  • Everything – a go-to neutral!

Dusty Ceadar (Pantone 18-1630)

Another spin-off of the 2016 Color of the Year, Rose Quartz, this rose-toned color is everything we want in our fall wardrobe! We love the rich warmth of this color.

Pairs well with:

  • Light Blue
  • Light Pink
  • Brown
  • Ivory

Lush Meadow (Pantone 18-5845)

An earth tone with an upgrade (or at least that’s what we like to call it)! This color is so rich and elegant – we want it in everything from knit sweaters and formal wear, to home interiors.

Pairs well with:

  • Red
  • Orange
  • Yellow (think mustard)

Spicy Mustard (Pantone 14-0952)

Spicy mustard, indeed! This color adds just the right amount of vibrancy and zest that this color palette craves. Expect to see this color in anything from knit sweaters to handbags.

Pairs well with:

  • Pink
  • Burgundy
  • Blue
  • Orange

Potter’s Clay (Pantone 18-1340)

We prefer to call this one pumpkin spice – because who doesn’t love pumpkin in their cup and in their wardrobe during the fall season? We love this color in chunky knits and suede accessories!

Pairs well with:

  • Yellow (think mustard)
  • Navy
  • Green
