If you’re a shopping pro, you know that right after the holidays nearly all winter coats and jackets hit the sale rack. Whether you’re in desperate need of a new coat or would like to add another to your wardrobe, there is no time like now to stock up on these winter styles! Given that winter lingers around a little longer here (hopefully not too long), you know you’ll get great use out of something new. We searched the mall to find the best coats at the greatest discounts, so we could show you just what you need to stay stylish and warm through the winter (without breaking your budget!).

Here are the top contenders…

If you’re looking for a more traditional style, we found this adorable olive green parka from Gap for 40% off! It was soft and warm – perfect for those frigid winter days.

Was: $158 | Now: $95*

For the outdoor enthusiast, Eddie Bauer is stocked with winter-friendly styles, including this waterproof and breathable jacket. This jacket is great for outdoor activities such as skiing and snowboarding because it has a helmet-compatible hood and is made to wick away moisture.

Was: $299 | Now: $149*

If you’d rather keep it on the lighter side of things, the PimaLoft puffer coats from Gap are a must! They are not only made to keep cold out, but they are also water resistant and lightweight.

Was: $69.99 | Now: $42*

When searching for a coat to wear to work or out on the town, the options seem endless! We fell in love with this  Michael Kors coat from Macy’s. It came in a variety of styles and colors, making it the perfect option that can be easily personalized to anyone’s style.

Was: $275 | Now: $110*

Love these looks, but not sure where to start? Here are our tips for buying coats for your winter wardrobe:

  • Analyze your needs. Before searching for the perfect coat, you need to realize what it is you need out of it. Are you searching for something to wear in the sub-zero temps? Do you need something specific for your activities and hobbies? Once you have this figured out, you can note what type of coat it is that you are looking for.
  • Think about price per wear. If you will spend more time wearing a certain coat, be willing to splurge a little more than you normally would. Chances are that you will wear it so many times, that it will be well worth the price. Quality is worth investing in!
  • Classic goes a long way. Although choosing something trendy and different can be a fun way to be fashion-forward in the winter, if you’re looking for something to last you longer than this season, search for something in a classic silhouette that will be in style for seasons to come.
  • The time to buy is now! We can’t say it enough – the best time to shop for a winter coat is right now! The best sales of the season are happening, and nearly all coats and jackets have made their way to the sale and clearance racks to make room for new merchandise. You can plan on saving anywhere from 30-80% off!

Psst. Guys, we didn’t forget about you! Nearly all of these coats come in men’s styles and sizes and are part of the same sales!
