Workwear for Spring with Valley News Live

A new fashion season is upon us, which means it was time to do a Spring fashion segment with our friends at Valley News Live!

By: Niki | May 19, 2016

I have the pleasure of partnering with the morning crew – Kristi Larson, Lisa Budeau, Kyle Bosch, and Lisa Green – to dress them not only in casual looks, but also in work-friendly styles for their morning newscast!

We always have such a fun time putting outfits together, and since for their positions, they have to coordinate, they always give me an exciting challenge to find outfits that speak to their style while still coordinating with the rest of the crew.

Since neutrals are so popular for Spring this year, I decided to go with beige and black as a base for all of their looks. I then picked blush and cinnamon-colored accents to give pops of color to their outfits.

Kristi’s Outfit

When I found this dress at White House Black Market, I knew it screamed Kristi. It was the perfect shape and length for her and she looked radiant in it.

Lisa B.’s Outfit

I always try to push Lisa out of her box a bit because she is always so pleasantly surprised when she tries things on, how much she loves them! Knowing that, I wanted to have a little fun with her outfit by mixing prints – something that can be so intimidating but look so great! I stayed with the neutral color palette to keep it classic and office-friendly, and paired a dotted top with an aztec stripe pencil skirt.

Kyle’s Outfit

Kyle is another one that steps out of his style box a bit when we do our segments, and it is so fun to see his reactions when he really likes what I choose for him. To my surprise, Kyle hasn’t worn a tan suit in years (if ever on air), so he was stepping out of his comfort zone in something that I had thought would be a staple in his workday wardrobe (take note: a tan suit is great for spring and summer – definitely worth investing in!).

Lisa G.’s Outfit

Lisa has such a fun personality and while I love to dress her in items that express that, when you’re a meteorologist like Lisa, you have to keep things pretty simple (you’re standing in front of a graphics-filled green screen all day!). To stick with something simple yet sassy, I chose a classic little black dress in a fun wrap silhouette and accented with colored jewelry and shoes, that coordinated with the rest of the crew.
